NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO)

Certification class for the Range Safety Officer designation. This is a non-shooting course. All materials will be provided. ABSOLUTELY NO AMMO IN THE CLASSROOM AT ANY TIME.  Students should have knowledge of basic pistol or rifle use. This is an interactive class with handling firearms and safety equipment. The goal of this course is to develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

NRA Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO)

A Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) candidate must be an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer (RSO) prior to attending. The goal of this course is to develop NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to train and supervise NRA Range Safety Officers and to provide the essential information required to develop Range Standard Operating Procedures.

NRA Instructor – Pistol (2 days)

This course teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, promoting, and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course. Must have completed NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course. Instructor Candidates will be required to perform pre-course qualifications (including shooting) during the class.

Course is presented in two parts: basic instructor training, and discipline specific instructor training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide, NRA Pistol Shooting Instructor Candidate Packet, and NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course student packet.

NRA Instructor – CCW (1-2 days)

PREREQUISITES: NRA Basic Pistol Instructor certification, current BIT and completion of the NRA-Basic CCW student course.

This course teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, promoting, and teaching NRA’s Basic CCW course. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course and complete an instructor certification examination and range qualification. Entire second day is on the range practicing live fire skills and a nationally standardized shooting qualification with an NRA Certified Instructor.
