Charlie Simonel has been involved with self-defense firearms training since 2005. He started by completing a Lethal Force Institute training program by Massad Ayoob in 2005.

In 2009 he became an NRA Pistol Instructor and Range Safety officer (RSO). He has enjoyed IDPA competition since 2009 and as an RSO.  Over the years he has specialized in customizing classes to the needs of the participants.

Charlie is now retired and as an NRA Training Counselor, is focusing on making sure the large number of new and existing firearm owners have access to high quality safety education by training the next generation of firearm instructors.

He also teaches the NRA CCW course which is designed for the gunowner that has a basic understanding of firearm safety and wants to learn how to defend themselves using the tools available to them.
